Singapore's Newest Healthcare Logistics Facility Is Opened by UPS
In Singapore, a crucial regional hub for the manufacture and delivery of medicines and other medical supplies, the 8,700 square metre facility expands UPS's healthcare logistics presence.
In order to service the present and future logistical requirements of companies in the expanding healthcare sector of the nation, UPS Healthcare has launched a new, $20 million purpose-built facility in the west of Singapore.
The 8,700 square metre facility can store medical supplies at temperatures between -80 and 25 °C. It is capable of offering other value-added services including packing, labelling, returns logistics, and local customs brokerage in addition to complying with all GDPMDS, ISO 13485, and GMP certification standards.
The addition of the company's dedicated healthcare facility at the Airline Logistics Park of Singapore (ALPS) nearly doubles UPS's total healthcare warehouse space in Singapore to more than 19,000 square metres.
According to Ianne Loh, vice president, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, UPS Healthcare, "by extending our healthcare logistics footprint into the west of Singapore, we strengthen our ability to manage and combine both ocean and air shipments and support the country's ambitions to become a regional distribution centre for the pharmaceutical industry."
"According to data from UPS's intra-Asia research, which was published earlier this year, the healthcare industry in the region is crucial to realising the region's trade development potential by 2030. Because of our expertise as a global leader in complicated healthcare logistics, businesses in Singapore can obtain the services they require, and most crucially, patients can rest easy knowing that their life-saving medical procedures and equipment are in capable hands.
The new facility's launch is the most recent in a string of recent steps taken by UPS to diversify its portfolio of healthcare logistics services in Singapore. The debut of UPS Premier, the business' highly specialised, best-in-class service for customers delivering time-sensitive, temperature-sensitive, and patient-critical products, was announced by the firm for late 2022 in Singapore. Modern RFID sensors integrated within the package labelling are used by UPS Premier to reduce visibility inside the UPS network to 3 metres.
