Acquisition Speeds Up the Development of Cold Chain Resources in Europe and Latin America
Bomi Group, a market-leading, multinational healthcare logistics provider, has been acquired by UPS (NYSE: UPS), the company said today. Through the acquisition, UPS Healthcare, the company's healthcare division, will expand its network of temperature-controlled facilities to 14 additional nations and hire 3,000 highly skilled workers to work across Europe and Latin America.
The business will now be known as Bomi Group, a UPS Company. Marco Ruini, CEO of the Bomi Group, will become a member of the UPS Healthcare executive team and move into a new position overseeing distribution and operations throughout Latin America and southern Europe. Customers of UPS Healthcare now have access to 216 locations in 37 countries and territories with a combined 17 million square feet of cGMP and GDP-compliant healthcare distribution space.
