Frank Luscher's new career began at the ideal time.

"UPS is paying drivers the same as some senior engineers in my old field made," one driver said.

Frank Luscher made the decision to leave decades of experience in manufacturing and test engineering behind in his fifties and join UPS as a delivery driver. He is happy that he did.

Frank joined UPS on a part-time basis during the busy holiday season after relocating to Austin, Texas, in order to supplement his income. He soon made the decision to make driving his full-time profession after learning about our company's top-tier compensation and perks.

According to Frank, "UPS pays drivers the same as some senior engineers in my old field." How many jobs allow you to start out with no experience and earn the same wage as other professions that demand a degree in addition to years of experience?.

Pay that leads the industry: After four years, a full-time UPS delivery driver makes, on average, $42 per hour. Additionally, extensive UPS healthcare benefits, pension plans, and tuition help are available to full-time employees and the majority of part-time staff.

Frank claimed that even though he was entering a whole new field, getting used to life on the road was effortless. "I like vigorous activity," he said. I also really enjoy being outside.

From the office to the open road: According to Frank, one of the finest aspects of travelling is the chance to interact with the clients he sees every day and spend time with many new four-legged companions.

"The dogs on my routes know my truck as the treat waggon," remarked Frank. Even some camels and zebras can be seen during one of my stops.

Frank may not have started his UPS career the earliest, but for him, opportunity came at the perfect time.

Frank reflected on his professional history and said, "I've manufactured everything from industrial coatings to gourmet ice cream. But UPS is my best experience to date! I adore my work.

Did you realise? A full-time UPS small package driver typically makes $95,000 a year, plus another $50,000 in health, welfare, and pension contributions. On average, total remuneration is roughly $145,000 per year.
